Is there anyway to take recorded tv/movies/video off of my cogeco cable box onto my computer ?

is there anyway to record or transfer recorded , or recordings( recording straight on to a device or pc) onto my computer or my external hard drive? , i know there is a USB port on the thing.. and no i don't want to use a TV tuner please don't waste my time recommending it. i just want to know if i can direct plug it into my computer (and how) or if i can put pre-recordeds onto my external HDD or record straight onto it. thanks allot!

You need an external hardrive, many are compatable with your pvr.. its not supported by cogeco but it will work. You can buy them at pretty well any store that sells electronics, i recommend future shop. They are actually really well priced and they do price matches if you find a better deal at another store.

No. Provider DVRs are locked that way. The only way is to somehow record the analog A/V playing.
