Does someone know how to download movies from the Comcast DVR to my computer?

What is the best way to record shows from Comcast without using a DVR?

  • In a few weeks, TeenNick is going to start airing old Nick shows from the 90s every night from 12 am - 4 am and weekends from 4 pm - 6 pm. Only a few of the shows have made their way to DVD, although I would like them all. I want to record the block, called The '90s Are All That, every night/evening. I know I can use DVR, but I want to be able to keep them permanently, not just on the DVR hard drive. I've asked many people and looked it up, but I cannot seem to figure out the best way to record and save these shows. I've thought of using a DVD recorder, hooking it up to my computer and recording it, copying off the DVR, or if I have no other options, using a VCR. I have a Comcast cable box, a Motorola Dual Tuner DVR/HDTV capable DCT3416 i. My uncle told me to just wait until someone uploads them to a torrent site, but I want to have them so in the future I can edit them myself and have all the complete seasons. Basically, I just want to know the best way to save the shows onto a permanent dvd, computer, etc. If there is anyone who can help I greatly appreciate it! Thank you in advance! (:

don't use torrents for anything. they are nothing but viruses. plus they are illegal to use you can buy DVD recorders that work like vcrs you put in a dvd-r or dvd+r disc and record (depends on what the model takes. most these days take both) I have a philips Hard Disk drive dvd recorder this magnavox one that I've provided a link to is pretty much the same thing http://www.amazon.com/MAGNAVOX-MDR513H-F7-Recorder-Digital/dp/B003DPKOKK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310348695&sr=8-1 with this DVD recorder you can hook your cable box through coax cable (the kind that screws into the wall and back of box) or the plain old red white and yellow Audio/video cords you can set up a timer like a vcr to automatically record to the hard disk drive. All you have to do is leave your cable box on the teenNick channel when it's done recording to the Hard disk drive (HDD), you can do a function called A-B erase where you can delete a portion of the recorded material. I use A-b erase to delete the commercials. When I'm done, I dub it to A Blank DVD. and all I have to do when I am done dubbing stuff to the dvd-r or dvd+r disc, is finalize it and then you can watch it on other dvd players. finalizing makes it permanent. other dvd recorders without a hard disk drive allow you to set the timer to record like a vcr. you just need to leave a blank dvd inside like you would a blank vhs tape and when you've burned/dubbed everything onto the disc, you just finalize to make it permanent and playable on other players DVD+RW or DVD-RW (Meaning DVD rewritable) is generally best if you want to tape something daily like stuff that's on when you are at work With RW discs, you can erase them and re-use them if you buy one with a hard Disk Drive/HDD, RW discs are kind of pointless

Torrent sites would be pirating them. You can use a DVD recorder to copy them from your DVR.
