    If you have a TiVo HD, then the best way is to get a cable card from your cable company. Be sure to get an "M" card, which enables recording two channels at once. If you have a series 2 TiVo, then you'll need to hook the TV up to the cable box with composite or s-video cables, plus audio. I think you'll also need to hook up IR blaster or maybe RS-232 cables so the TiVo can control channel changing on the cable box.

Or if you have an older TiVo like a series 2, connect the composite connection. If you bought a TiVo HD, you can get local channels in HD through cable. If you get a cable card, you can get HD channels. You rent this from your cable company. With Comcast, you get 1 free digital cable box or 1 free cable card which means they charge no rental fee. Additional charges are only $2.05 per month with Comcast. As long as you have a digital cable package, you can get HD just by having a cable box that can support it. In the case of a TiVo, you just need a cable card to get all the programming with your current subscription in HD. The HD will be on additional channels. If you have digital starter, you'll get all the digital starter channels in HD. If you have digital prefered, you'll get a few more HD. HD is not a subscription upgrade. It is an equipment upgrade.
