How do you program a dish network remote ?

• So i turned on my tv one morning and when i turn on the tv it says dish network press "select" to continue. i pressed select but it didnt work and the sat button on the top was blinking so i new the remote wasnt broken . i changed the batteries and it still didnt work. can you guys please help me fix it . i have the black dish network remote and the silver one. but we use the black one . so can you please help me fix it .i tried looking at videos but it didnt work because my screen says press select to contine. so yeah can you guys please help me!!!!!!!

  Hi, I will be happy to assist you. The first thing we need to do is to get the message off your screen. You do not say what the model# of the receiver is but if you find the buttons on the front of the receiver. They may be inside a little door on the right hand side of the receiver. Press the "Select" button or press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds and let the receiver reboot. Once you have a normal picture on the TV, press the "Menu" 2 times and it will pull up a "System Info" screen. Towards the bottom of the page it will say Primary Remote Address and Secondary Remote Address. Make a note of the numbers in the white boxes. Now take the Remote we are trying to readdress: 1. In the System Info screen. 2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up. 3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote. 4. Press the pound (#) button. 5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. **If successful, the number selected in step 4 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.
