What is the best way to connect to directv on demand?

Can I connect my DirecTv HD receiver to my WII to receive On Demand?

My router is in a room at the other end of the house from my DirevTV HD receiver. How can I connect to the router without running a cable? I have a WII (internet connected) very close to the DTV receiver if that would help. I read somewhere I could connect to the WII to get On Demand but don't know what adapter or device I need. Directv told me only their adapter would work. Any help is appreciated.

Use a wireless router then find the SSID on the wireless settings then enter it on your Wii wireless settings.
