Combo units cant convert the Tapes that are store bought as they have Macrovision and it will stop them ALL of the Combo units do this.....best and cheapest way is buy a DVD Recorder and they are at Walmart and Target or online at Amazon we use Toshiba and we bought one for as low as $65.00 and some others cost more yet we like the features.
