How long does it take netflix to deliver a dvd?

  • i'm new to the system and i just ordered my first dvd. it's an older movie and should not be in high demand, i was wondering how quickly netflix normally delivers.

    It depends on how obscure or in demand it is but for me it usually takes around 3 days from warehouse to mailbox. Sometimes a movie might be in really low demand but it is such an obscure film that they don't have many copies so it will take a long time to get it. Either because they are already rented, or they may have to ship it from another warehouse. If it is high demand then there may be a "long wait" or "short wait" note next to it because they are all shipped out. Either of these can take a pretty long time so if you have either of them, I recommend putting them to the top of your queue so that when they become available you get it. You won't miss any dvd's because they will just send the next one down. It can take weeks when there is a note like this on a dvd. P.S. While their big feature seems to be no late fees, always mail them in on time so that you can get the most out of your monthly payments.

Usually within a day or so. I live in a really REALLY rural area (seriously 95% of the land around here is owned by Amish) and it only takes a day for them to get here. (more if you count the day you send it back and receive it as days they take to get here) Day 1-send it back Day 2-they do their thang Day 3-movies in the mailbox

It depends on how close you are to a distribution center. For me it takes 1 day to mail the DVD to them, They process it the next day and mail it back, then I get another DVD 1 day later, so 3 days total from the time I put it in to turn. As long as the movie doesn't say short or long wait in your queue it will be mailed out to you as soon as there is a spot available (which would be immediately on your first dvd)
