How can I connect my lap top to my TV to stream shows?

  • I haven't been able to burn downloaded shows to a DVD disc and then play them in my DVD player, so now I'm hoping that I can connect my laptop and my TV via some type of cord so I can stream the downloads onto the TV since my laptop screen is too small. Does anyone know the name of the type of cord I would need and also do you know of a good brand? I have an almost brand new Gateway laptop and a Vizio HD TV that's about 2 years old, not sure if that matters. Thanks for anyone who answers!

    Hi Rachel. Almost every modern laptop and HD MIrn TV has HDMI cable interface (mid or high range). http://www.hometheater.com/images/archivesart/1105hook.15.jpg or images.google.com for it. Another option could be s-video http://www.liderpc.com.ar/imagenes/CABLE%20SUPER%20VIDEO%204M-4M.jpg but you may need additional audio cables here (1st version of hdmi too correct me if I'm wrong) Regards, DiegoAlberto
