How can I record a show on Comcast?

How can I record a show on comcast?

  • I had the black box from comcast. And I want to record wednesday's presidential debate but how can i do that when I watch other show and turn off the TV. Does it cost money? And how can I watch the program that I record afterward?

  • Answer:

You either need a DVR or 2 cable boxes. 1 cable box to record onto a VHS and the other to watch other programming. DVR service costs approx $10 a month depending on your area. 2 Cable boxes cost more in monthly service fees. To watch a recorded show all you need to do it select your recorded show and play. Treat the DVR like a VHS player. It will rewind, fast-foward, pause, replay, etc. Turning off the TV doesn't turn off the cable box. If you turn off the box then you cannot record to a VHS recorder. The DVR doesn't have that problem. When it's time to record it turns itself back on.
