Why does Comcast cable not have HD channels?

How much i can view HD channels even when i downgrade to a standard comcast cable box?

  • would i be charged for viewing them? because i was told that they only give me the starter pack and all the sudden i can view channels up to 700 and up what is going on? but when i click on 700 and + the quality is still blurry. But i am worried that i might have to pay since i can view them? can i get some help here? Thanks.

  • Answer:

For Comcasts High-Definition (HD) service, you need an HD-enabled cable box that allows you to receive and watch HD programs and yes it IS an additional monthly fee. Additionally, you will need to connect your HDTV to your HD-enabled, cable box with HDMI or Component cabling in order to view HD channels in HD mode. If you have just a "Standard Box" you wont get HDTV on your television. You have to upgrade the box and it costs more.
