How to record Dish Network DVR?

How do I record from my Dish Network DVR to a VHS ?

  • I have alot of movies recorded to my DVR that I dont want to lose...All I have is a VCR....Some please tell me how to record these in human terms....PLEASE HELP

    and as far as I know you need a recorder to do that. I think the one I has will ONLY record on tv programming. Look thru your users guide...if its possible it will be in there. Connect A/V out on the DVR to the A/V in on the VCR. Select that input on the VCR, record on it, and play on the DVR.

on the back of the dish dvr, find line one output and connect an a/v cable. That's red,white and yellow rca male jacks. Connect that cable to the vhs audio/video in and turn on the movie and record to the vhs. Once you have the vhs working you can go to your reg. menu where you choose the recordings options and in the box on the left, you can record to an ext. device which would be your vhs. You will have to sequence the timer for this to happen and you can watch a different program while it's recording.
