Can I have both sky and cable on 1 tv?

Do sky tv engineers ever work from unmarked vans?how do you tell someone has illegal cable sky?

• I live in a block of flats with communal dish installed about 2 years ago.we have the aerial sat points installed ready to go and I am an existing sky customer.Last week someone in an unmarked van was on the roof drilling and now a messy cable is coming down the side of the building away from all the othe tv cables and packaging from sky plus box was thrown out the front in the rubbish on the same day in my neighbours rubbish. could my neighbours be getting illegal sky or is it just shoddy workmanship. I know when my sky was installed nobody went on the roof as the point are all set to go . thanks for help

  I'd say just shoddy workmanship. You can't get illegal Sky from a sky plus box what you need is a receiver with an ethernet port to allow card sharing Maybe it was a local satellite installer and they wanted multi-room
