How do i record a tv show from cable using a VCR?

ok so i have a vcr and i would like to record certain stuff tht comes out in cable..so i have the wall cable connected to the tv..for example if a big NFl game is on n i wrk, i wanna record it..so how do i properly connect wires and how do i record it? im confused.. i have the wall cable to the tv..and the vcr has a place to put the cable too..wat do i connect to wat to properly record something? thks

okay what you do is you go to guide, find the show you want, and on your remote theres a red button, plain old red, and its says in caps REC (stands for record) you click that and it will record automatically.

U must have the VCR connected between the cable outlet and the TV in most cases. U might have to have the VCR on channel 3 or whatever channel that you have your TV on to watch cable.
