Which capture card should I get?

I want a capture card that will work with a xbox 360 and a mac. I'm making a machinima so good video quality would be nice but nothing crazy expensive. I don't have any experience with capture cards so it would be helpful if you could tell me what other cables and things I need. Apparently I have to get some splitters and cables or something? Your help is greatly appreciated.
