How do you use Record To VCR on DVR?
-
I have an optimum DVR and I have some shows that I don't want to delete because I can't find them on DVD. There is the option to record them to VCR but how do I set that up?
-
Answer:
Most DVRs have an auxiliary coaxial output jack for this purpose. It outputs analog channel 3 or 4 (selectable from the box's menu). You connect that to your VCR input and leave the VCR on that channel (3 or 4) permanently. If your DVR doesn't have the necessary jack, you need to get an RF modulator (see the ref below). Connect the yellow-red-white output of the DVR to the modulator input, and its output to the VCR input jack. Set the VCR to channel 3 permanently.
