Can I use a sky+ box to replace ordinary sky box?
-
Hi I have an ordinary sky box and get just the free channels. However, having stayed with friends and seen their Sky+ box in action, I'd like to get one. Can i just buy a Sky+ box and connect it in place of old one or is there more to it? Many thanks for help.

Answer:
If you were to buy a Sky + box and want to use all the functions including pause/rewind and record live tv then you'll need to get a twin LNB fitted to your dish and run twin satellite cable from the twin LNB to the two satellite connections on the back of the Sky + box. Then phone Sky to get your viewing card paired with the Sky + box, have the make, model and serial number of the Sky + box to hand as Sky will ask for them. You would also need to upgrade your subscription.
