Whats wrong with my DVD recorder?

How can i connect my dvd recorder to record my TV Av channels? or whats playing on my DVD Player?

  • Answer:

To record TV shows using your DVD recorder, whatever you currently have hooked up to your television (an TV antenna, cable or satellite set-top box, DVR like Tivo, or cable coax directly from a wall), unplug that from the back of your television and connected it to the input of your DVD recorder. Then connect the output of your DVD recorder to your television. Make sure to do this for both video and audio cables. Like this: Input source (TV antenna, Set-Top Box, DVR such as Tivo, or cable from a wall) --> DVD recorder --> TV In order to record home videos (not copyrighted movies) played out of your DVD player, connect the output of your player to the input of your recorder, then the output of your recorder to your television so that you can watch what you are recording with your recorder on your TV. DVD player --> DVD recorder --> TV If your DVD recorder has more than one set of input, you can have both the DVD player AND whatever other input source you have (cable box etc.) hooked up to your recorder at the same time so that you don't have to unplug / replug cables when you want to record a TV show and then from the DVD player etc..
