Why is my digital cable box remote not working all the time?

What do I do if my Comcast cable box isn't turning on?

  • Okay, so I have a comcast cable box. However, there aren't enough outlets in my wall to fit my box, my TV, and my DVD player. So every time I need my DVD player I must unplug my cable box. Thing is, when I plug my box back in it won't turn on no matter how many ways I press the power button. I make sure everything is plugged in, and I try turning it on with the remote. In the past, it has started working after I switched which outlet it was in. Thats not working now.

If it's dead and won't power up. You'll either need to call the cable service and schedule a dead box replacement or if you don't want to wait. Take it in to your local cable store and replace it.

Even if you made sure, check twice. If you are still having a problem you should contact Comcast.
