Is DVR recording on the wrong TV?

How do you watch tv while recording on a DIRECTV Plus HD DVR?

  • In the manual and on the website, it says that the DIRECT TV Plus HD DVR can record two movies at once, or that you can watch tv while recording something. However, when it is recording a movie, and I turn on the tv to watch something else, it says that I need to stop recording in order to another show. Does anybody know why it does this and how to fix it? Thanks.

  • Answer:

The tuner should have two satellite connections in the back. The only way to watch one channel and record another is to make sure both connections are connected and both tuners are up and running.

It sounds like both lines are not hooked up to your DVR. You must have a line going into Sat1 and Sat 2 in order to record and watch. Just find the splitter they use and run another line along with the existing one or have DTV come out and run it for you. Then you're good to go. weeder
