How to hook up bluray player to internet?

Trying To Hook Up DVD Player To Internet?

  • I got a fancy DVD/BluRay player for christmas. It has an ethernet port in the back for streaming Netflix. However I have a wireless router in my house and don't want to run a cable from my computer (in the other room) to the back of my BluRay player. Is there a device available that I can place by the DVD player that can connect to my wireless computer network and then would run a short ethernet cable to the DVD player? If so, what would you call this, and where would I find one? Thanks

  • Answer:

The best thing to do is run a long cable. It will give you the best speed. For streaming on your TV you need the highest speed possible to watch HD. Does your player not have wireless capability? If none of the above are ideal, try a powerline networking kit like the one below... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Rocketfish%26%23153;+-+Powerline+Networking+Kit/1251336.p?id=1218244146330&skuId=1251336&st=rocketfish&cp=3&lp=6

nope. there is none, maybe because what your suggesting is complicated that it's much better or much faster to just operate your dvd manually than prompting people to buy the whole system your gonna use just to operate the dvd player
