Why in the world cant my direct tv dvr record shows while I change the channel?
-
Bfore when I first got my direct tv dvr I coud record shows and change the channel and the shows would still be recorded. Now recently it wont let me change a channel unless I cancel a recording. Its so annoying like Im recording a show then my parents want to see somthing else but it wont let me change the channel unless I leave the show thats recording otherwise it will cancel the recording. That way I cant record anything unless Im infront of my tv already watching it wich is pointless... please help.

Answer:
To record one channel and watch another you need a DVR with TWO tuners. If you indeed have two tuners, somehow, one of them is disabled or busy recording something else. Find out, what the other tuner is doing...
