Why won't my TIVO connect to my phone line?

Can anyone tell me how to connect a Tivo (through my computer) without a phone line?

  Okay first it depends on how you want to connect it to the PC? Do you want it to be connected to a Wired/ Wireless Router? Do you want to connect it completely wireless? Do you want to connect it directly to the PC? I have some links below that will further help you out but I will try to give a brief description. First you need to purchase a compatible USB to Ethernet adapter, or USB Wireless adapter. Second you need Tivo Desktop to be able to plug in the Tivo's IP address once it is networked so you can view the shows, Transfer the shows, pictures, MP3's. next you either run a Ethernet cable from the USB ethernet adapter to the wireless router or Connect the USB Wireless Adapter to the back of the Tivo. Once you have them connected you can use a program like LookatLAN to find the Tivo's IP address on your home network. Once you have the IP address you can open up the Tivo Desktop,plug in the IP address of the Tivo, start the Tivo Desktop Server, Now you should be able to transfer the shows/movies, Pictures, and MP3's to or from the Tivo to the PC.
