Can I use slingbox to watch my home TV on a motel tv?

I want to use a slingbox to watch my Direct Tv when traveling on business. I would be trying to use a tv in a motel room.

Theoretically... If you had your laptop, you could connect the laptop to the TV in your room, then have the Laptop connect to your Slingbox back home, and stream TV that way. In reality, most hotel TVs are still pretty old, so connecting your laptop to one may not even be possible, and in addition, most hotel's internet speeds are too slow to allow for adequate streaming.
