Can I record a high-def show from a high-def TV to a VHS cassette tape? If so, what will the quality be like?

Answer:
You cannot the tape would come out blue with little to no sound. VHS tapes can't handle that type of data, sorry.

The tv has nothing to do with it. If it is a over the air channel you need a converter box connected to the vcr. quality will be the same as all vhs.
