Why were my Movie Channels taken away by Comcast?

Do you hate Comcast as much as me?

  • I use to have about 25 channels on my TV then cable went digital and I lost all but 12. Comcast said this was good for me. I was told by comcast that the other channels I was never supposed to have. I learned to adjust at least a few of the remaining 12 were HD. HD was the reason for this mess in the first place. Now they have taken the few HD channels I had. So now I am wondering why the heck did I buy a digital TV in the first place. Meanwhile every year my cable bill and internet goes up a buck or two. I wish someone cared enough to start a protest - I would watch it if it came on CBS, NBC, or FOX . I'm far to cheap to spend $100 for cable.

    hello since they went digital for those that had no cable box that want there channels back they have a device called a dta adapter u get 2 for free and get your channels back that are in the tv package u chose here read about it https://digitalnow.comcast.com/ go too your local office too get your dta device good luck hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets try something.. Go type your address into www.antennaweb.org and it will show you the TV towers around your home. If you plug in an antenna - you can get these stations (ABC, NBC, CBS) for free over the air. "..every year my cable bill and internet goes up a buck or two." Look - your cable company does not produce ANY TV shows. Each channel in your package requires the cable company to pay a fee per month to the channel. The fee amount is part of a contract. If you have a package that includes a channel for even 1 day - the cable company has to pay the whole monthly fee. Every week - several of these contracts come up for renewal. Last year the cable company had to pay ... $0.35 for you to see a channel. Now that channel wants $0.85. The cable company has to argue and they eventually settle on $0.45. Multiply this by 3-5 per week. After a year - the cable company has to raise prices to cover all the individual costs. Dont get me wrong - some of the cable companies are evil. But you have to respect that they are "middle men" in the process.
