S-Video Cable Question?

Basic cable question....?

• how much would basic cable be?? and how about less than basic channels. what i mean is like just channel 5, 7, 11. because to my knowledge there are those channels, then basic cable [disney channel, nickelodeon, cartoon network, etc.] and then the digital cable [hundreds of channels] my apartment said for ANY of that [even like 5 channels] we have to pay. i don't understand though, because at my old apartment like 2 years ago, all i did was plug in the thick white cord that pulls out from the hole in the wall, to my TV and it automatically played channels 2, 5, 7, 11.... now apparently we have to pay for those?? she also said that this apartment complex uses time warner, but i looked on time warner's site and found that they only offer digital cable. what gives?? what am i missing here?? i live in highland, ca. if that matters. ♥ how much would less than basic cable cost?? ♥ how much would basic cable cost?? ♥ how much would digital cable cost?? ♥ is it true that i have to pay for less than basic?? ♥ and does time warner now only offer digital?? ♥ what do you suggest, because we have absolutely nothing.   If you don't have cable then you need an analog to digital converter box, because there is NO more analog tv, it is all digital. The box costs about 45.00 last year the government gave out 40.00 coupons to off set the cost, then you can get a few stations for free. I have Brighthouse (I'm in central CA) and I think they offer a 9.99 basic package. Call your company. You can't just plug your TV in anymore. I pay 130.00 a month for cable (no HBO or other pay channels) and internet. It's crazy.
