How do you transfer shows from Tivo to computer?

Can you safely remove shows from your Tivo after they are put on the computer?

Additionally, I want to know if, once the shows have been transferred to my PC, and deleted from my Tivo unit, will that affect the viewing of that show on my PC? If anyone has done this with their Tivo and Tivo Desktop software, let me know if you have done this?
Answer:

There is no linkage between the copy on your PC and the original one on the TV. They're completely independent and you can safely delete the one on the TiVo. Note that deleted programs still are retained in the "Recently Deleted" folder until more recording space is needed and are then over-written, oldest first.

Once you transfer to the PC the copy on the Tivo can be deleted. They have nothing to do with each other.
