What is the best way to connect to directv on demand? Ethernet adapter or wireless adapter?

  • we currently have wireless router/dsl connection; worried that using wireless adapter will be affected by our cordless phones like the internet connection sometimes is when using wireless internet; how does ethernet adapter system work?

  • Answer:

Take a look at the location of your wireless router as compared to where your Directv receiver is and also see if your wireless router has any wired ports on the back. Many do and if the two pieces of hardware are close enough, all you need is an ethernet cable to connect the two and you are in business. As you have noted, some wireless channels can interfere with with your wireless telephone. However, if your wireless works now, using a wireless connection here will work too. This would function on the same channel as your current wireless system. Power line ethernet is the other option. I've never used this so I can't speak to it.
