how to change the source of images?

Change tv video source using Time Warner remote control?

• I have the Scientific American DVR box and the Time Warner supplied Synergy V remote control. The remote works fine with cable; it also is programmed to turn the tv on and off and controls the volume. What I want it to be able to do is change the video source on the tv (which has 4 possible sources - #3 is the cable source, #4 is the tv source). If I am recording 2 programs on the dvr and want to watch a 3rd program, I can enter the channel nbr on my universal remote and it automatically changes the video source to the tv. Unfortunately, that universal remote doesn't allow me to switch back to the cable source. when the tech was here to install this DVR, he showed me that pressing a couple of buttons on the Time Warner remote, it could change the video source. Wish I had written that info down because now I can't remember how he did it. Oddly, Time Warner tech support isn't aware that this can be done although the guy who came out the house had no problem doing it. Anyone know what button combination will do this? Just pressing the "Video Source" button near the botton of the remote doesn't do anything.

  You have to press "TV" first. Select TV because that is the device you want to chage sources on. Then p-ress video source. Th "TV" button is up to nect to the CBL button.
