How do I stop my DVR from recording?

How do I stop my Comcast DVR from recording a show every time it comes on?

• Shows that are on my season pass list record every single time they come on! I have my settings for each show to record only once but it just keeps recording. Is there another way to stop this? I know when I had Direct tv, all u had to do was set each show to record once, and that's what it did. My Comcast DVR, won't! It's very annoying because I have to manually keep deleting the recorded material and it takes up space on the system. Thanks for any help.

  go to an episode that is going to come on in the guide and hit record, you should come to a screen that says cancel recording, change plan options and something else. click change options and change the top setting from new and repeats to new only
