How do i connect tivo to a digital phone line?

Who told you that? I have TiVo on a digial phone line with no problems. Call the phone company and complain. Are you using a direct wire connction to the phone line or a wireless connection? A wireless connection could have problems. When you search through the TIVO Community forums, you will find that many people have had issues with VOIP/Digital phone service and TIVO units. Most of the answers will have you enter a dialing prefix that is in the Manhattan area and use another code to force the TIVO to talk at a lower baud rate. I used this for a few months and then it stopped working. The best and by far the easiest solution I have found was to follow the instructions for updating the TIVO using "Serial over PPP" connection. All you need is a laptop (or a computer near your TIVO) and a special cable.
