How do I know if my computer can run the Hauppauge HD PVR?

Will my computer affect the quality of my Hauppauge HD PVR video game recording?

• i have a pretty old computer it has no display adapter updates, no graphics card updates, its pretty much just all 2003 software. Im debating whether i should get a Hauppauge HD PVR for christmas. so does it do all that recording jazz itself like it wont lag or anything or do i need to go get a better computer? i originally bought a dazzle pinnacle studio 14 but after i finished recording the playback would be extremely laggy and the audio would be all jumbled up will a Hauppauge HD PVR have the same problems?

  yes, it will. try going with a faster computer before you get the hauppauge. also take a look into the tristar game recorder - it does not require a computer to record and it record to usb sticks too. other options are ezcap and pinnacle, but they work the same as hauppague and dazzle. so either a faster computer with hauppauge or use a tristar game recorder. good luck!
