    I am a DirectTV subscriber and from what I have experienced so far....they are great!! From the moment I subscribed which was 4 months ago...all things have been favorable. The satellite service..customer service...and the DISCOUNTS! Greaaaaat! I received a discount of $18 a month for 1 yr right off AND since I knew someone else who is a DirectTV subscriber..after reading all my paperwork that the technician gave me...I discovered that me AND my friend..using her acct no. as a referral would be eligible to receive $50 off BOTH our bills(spread out in 5 pymts)so that was an immediate $28 off the first bill straightaway! Also..I got Showtime for free for a year! I also got HBO and Starz for free for 3 mos and when I called to cancel..so that I would not be billed..the agt made me an offer I COULD NOT refuse...HBO and Starz both for $18 for 6 months. So far...I think DirectTV was a good choice..and in my area.. though they are present here..I don't know many people who subscribe to Dish Network...its either Time Warner or DirectTV. Hope this helps.

I have Direct TV. The service is great. When there's a thunderstorm, I don't lose my connection. My mom has Dish and it loses it's connection a lot.

directv is best for those that want tivo brand dvr and access to NFL programming, Dish is best for those interested in foreign programing
