Cable box: Motorola dct 3412I. DVR:Sony RDR-GX7. TV Samsung HLS-6187. AV Receiver: Sony STR-DE835. Cable line to splitter. Splitter to DVR and TV. Optical (audio) out from cable box to AV receiver.

Hi Neptune, Try connecting a set of audio cables and see if they work. They are the red & white jacks. Hook them up and that will tell you if the problem is in your optical output. Norm
