How to record games on PC in HD?

HOW DO I RECORD PC FOOTAGE WITH HD PVR?

• right, i watched a tutorial on youtube on how to set up a hd pvr to record pc footage, but im quite confused from what i understand, the component cables from the PVR plug into the dvi port on my Graphics Card (via splitter) and the usb from the PVR goes into a laptop and records your pc footage. i am confused wether i HAVE to have another screen to play on ( such as my HD TV ) or wether i can just play on my PC and Record the footage on my laptop (via HD PVR) before anyone asks:- 1. i have a DVI to HDMI splitter (if needed) 2. the game i would like to record is Call Of Duty 4, i know commands to decrease screensize if needed and also i would do PC tutorials :). pleaseee answer my question if you KNOW thanks Rhys :)

  You will need a hd pvr with video pass through. does your hd pvr have video pass through on it? also a hd pvr with in farad is good to control it via remote control. 1. video input must come from your xbox 360 ro ps3. connect audio left and right and video there. red white and yellow 2. output should go to your television, again red, white, and yellow 3. connect your mac pro, macbook, or pc to the tristar mx hd pvr via the usb cable i think that is what you are asking. hope it helps
