My TV has Freeview HD but my PVR doesnt. Can I watch Freeview HD through my PVR or do I need to switch aerials?
-
I have a Thompson PVR and a Samsung TV with built in freeview HD. The aerial is plugged in the back of the PVR and a scart lead from the PVR to the aerial. Is there a way of watching the HD channels through the PVR so I can still use the pause/record functions of the PVR? Or do I have to plug another aerial in the back of the TV and switch between the PVR and the aerial when I want to watch Freeview HD?

Answer:
You will need to split the aerial cable to the PVR and TV (or use the PVR's aerial passthrough, if it has one), and use the TV tuner to watch HD with no DVR features. You cannot watch HD at all through the PVR you now have. The other option is to upgrade to an HD-PVR.
