How do I connect a VCR to my computer to transfer movies into files?
-
I want to use Windows Movie Maker to save some movies on VHS to my PC. How do I connect the VCR to the PC? What cable do I use? Should I use a USB port for video and the microphone input for audio? I will welcome any advice.

Answer:
You need what is called a video capture device. It has A/V jacks and USB, and digitizes the A/V, where software will record it.
