How do I use Directv HD Reciever using another card?
-
Okay so I have 2 standard Directv recievers in my house. My uncle gave me an brand new HD Directv Reciever and it came with an unopened/unused card. Question is, Will I be able to use one of MY cards on this new HD reciever? Cause I'm not sure that if i use the new card, it might reactivate my uncle's closed directv account. I hope this makes sense. kinda hard to explain. o________o

Answer:
The card goes with the box. You must have BOTH the card and the box authorized by DirecTV for them to work. You can buy your own equipment and have it authorized by DirecTV on your account UNLESS your Uncle rented the HD unit from DirecTV you can have it authorized in your name and account. Customer service MAY??? be able to authorize the HD unit with your card but since the box came with a card you should use that card.
