Why won't DirecTV remote TV input work?

I just got a DirecTV HD DVR and want to program my RCA TV into the remote but no codes work. Any suggestions?

  • My TV is brand new (RCA 40" HDTV) and I can't find any codes to program into the DirecTv HD DVR Remote control. I've tried searching for codes on the remote and using the suggested codes. The model number of my TV is L40FHD41. Any suggestions would be great. I really don't want to have to use two remotes.

I have the same problem with the Dish tv remote. I have tried everything and nothing works. The Dish installer made it so it turns on the tv and works the volume, but I have to use the tv remote if I want to do anything else like adjust the picture. Call DTV and they might have a newer code since the tv's brand new.

codes and instructions are in your book. most codes are there. one problem we always ran into was if you have a tv/dvd combo, no codes will work the tv. so if its a combo tv forget about it. you an also go online to" programming dtv codes" and you will find a link. if dtv installed it recently you can also call to have it fixed for free because the installer is paid to do this.
