I am completely computer challenged so whatever answers need to be pretty clear. I have Direct TV, and I have a DVR. I am trying to transfer a show off of my DVR onto my computer because I will be cancelling my Direct TV soon. How can I go about doing that and where can I get the stuff I need?

At this time it is not possible. Only Tivo, ReplayTV, and other 3rd party DVRs can transfer video to a PC. Your only option to to connect a VHS or DVD recorder and transfer your recordings in this fashion. This method is time consuming since you must play the show in real time while it is recording to the tape or DVD. If you have many hours of programming this will take many hours.
