How do I view recordings with Dish?

How can I recover my Dish Network DVR recordings?

• I have had a Dish DVR for nearly 2 1/2 years, and a few days ago, I noticed my DVR making random buzzing noises nonstop every second for nearly two days. I could not access my recordings and I was limited as far as using Dish Network resources. I then troubleshooted the dish, it stopped making noise, but I still could not access my recordings. I called Dish Network, and we ordered a new reciever, and they said the only way you can recover the recordings was to get an external hard drive and reformat to the new reciever, so I did that, and it still does not work. This is urgent, I had so many important recordings on there, that I would have loved to keep for a while, but now I do not know what to do. I hope I can be able to reaccess them and save them. Any other ideas? Thank you

  sounds like the hard drive burnt out if it did you cant get any thing back but if the hard drive is still good you could salvage it and put it in your next dvr then you would have a back up lol
