Is a Hauppauge HD PVR worth the money?

  • I plan on recording and commentating on gameplay, call of duty, skyrim, uncharted 3 etc. I read that the hd pvr is the best option, but is is worth it's price tag and is there any decent places to buy them from online?

Depends on what you mean by worth the money. The thing is, if you buy it solely for the purpose of making YouTube videos, then hardly anyone watches your videos, then no, it won't be worth the money. But if you use it for other hd recording purposes then it may be. If you are gonna concentrate on making videos for YouTube, start with something basic to record the gameplay, build up your subscribers then invest in better gear once you know it's worth doing.

I must admit I have never used this exact model. A few years ago I was using a Hauppage item to record TV onto my computer and it was faultless. Looking around on the net the HD PVR is highly regarded. I think you are looking at around £159.99 ish for one in the UK. I did a search on Find it for Less and that was the cheapest price.
