Do I need Directv Standard Definition receiver if I have DVR with QAM tuner?
-
I have a DVR with QAM digital tuner and a standard definition TV. I am thinking about getting Directv. I would like to be able to: 1) Watch HD broadcasts (including NHL Center Ice package) on my standard definition TV; 2) Record one show on DVR while watching another show on the TV If I have a Directv satellite dish and paid subscription to Directv, do I need a Directv receiver or can the QAM tuner in my DVR essentially function as the receiver?
-
Answer:
Your QAM receiver is useless for satellite reception. Get the DirectTV DVR with DUAL tuners and you will be all set.
