Connecting up old sky box for freesat?

Want to use freesat+ box with my current dish (ex sky) do i need to cange cabling or do anythihg to the dish?

  • cancelled sky and want to use freesat+ box instead of sky box, i know that i can use sky freesat service but want to recieve bbc in hd the freesat+ box is cheaper than buying a skyplus box.

  • Answer:

No one has mentioned the fact that a Freesat + needs Two cables from your LNB One for each Tuner . So if you didn't have a Sky Plus then you will need to change the LNB to a Quad . ( £10 ) & run another cable in . The dish is fine so try not to move it .

yes you can use your ex-sky dish/lnb to pick up freesat HD. its just a matter of disconnecting your skybox and replacing with the freesat HD box, no realignment/adjustment of dish is required.

You can use your current dish and cabling. Because they share the same satellite position 28.2E. Also see link below.
