Record Cable on directv?
-
i am trying to prove my dad wrong because i am 100% sure that this will not work and will prove him wrong later when he decided he is not scared of technology malfunctioning right when we get it set up. We just now got our DirecTV installed. we also have basic Suddenlink channels through a cable. My dad says that if we connect the suddenlink cable into our DirecTV DVR then we could record whatever channel that is on the suddenlink onto the directv DVR storage. I believe this will not work in and legal and legitimate way.

Answer:
You are correct. Your DTV receiver does not have any input ports so there is no way to record anything from another source. All the connections on the back are output only.
