Is it possible to transfer video from comcast dvr to the computer?

Can you take stuff from your DVR and put it onto a dvd or transfer it to a computer?

    Several ways. The most straightforward is to hook up a DVD recorder to the A/V outputs of the DVR. Press Play on the DVR and Record on the DVD recorder. Very simple. Assuming you have a Motorola DVR with a FireWire output, you can use that channel to record to a computer. This is more complicated. You need a device driver on your PC to handle the connected DVR, plus software to capture the digital transport stream, plus software to burn a DVD. The advantage is that the entire transport stream stays in the digital domain. While you can't maintain HD quality on a standard DVD, you can get very good digital dubs this way. Hi prnvkmr , I transfer mine directly to my computer using DVD Xpress. With DVD Xpress you can transfer your video to your hard drive and then edit it if you desire. DVD Xpress comes with basic video editing software. I got mine at Sam's for $59.95. They are cheaper now. You can look at one & read about it here - http://www.usb-ware.com/ads-dvd-xpress.htm I saw a newer model at WalMart recently. It was the DVD Xpress2. I can’t remember what it cost. You connect the composite output of your DVR into the DVD Xpress and connect the DVD Xpress to your computer via a USB cable. Norm
