Can I use a used HD DVR?
-
So I just got directv and I have a standard dvr, but I have had directv before and I decided to change cable companies and now I'm back with them and I have standard resolution and I would like High def. So I have an old HD DVR and I wanted to know if I could switch the standard to the old HD DVR? and would that affect my cable? And would it make my channels HD? Thanks

Answer:
You can switch DVRs back to the Hi Def one. But you have to have an HD TV and HD service from DirectTV to make it all work. All 4 units -The TV -The DVR - the DVD and Direct TV must be in HD to get real HD reception.
