How to setup Ezcap 116 to the TV?

Okay so I've looked everywhere on youtube for setups to just the tv by using the S-video. Every setup says the S-video is for HD but I can't find out how to plug it into the TV so that whatever is on my TV, that's what I want to record. I right now have the double sided Svideo cable connected to side of TV and to the Ezcap and it is showing a blank screen in the preview. So I clearly now don't know how to get whatever that is on my TV screen to the preview. Also I would like to know if it's possible to use the component cables from the AV cable on the Xbox to the Ezcap. Either way, I want HD quality for my videos wether it's recording whatever is on my tv screen using the S video cable, or actually using the component cables from the Xbox to the Ezcap. So if someone can tell me the instructions or find me them on the web, you would make my day! :D
