Is there something wrong with my TV?

Is my TV a defect, was my DirectTV install bad, or is something wrong with my apartment electric system?

• Ok this is a very wierd problem. My Dynex HD TV is brand new that was bought a week ago. I just got direct TV cable today and for some odd reason when we use HDMI, the TV makes a very loud noise then it turns off. It does the same thing with component cables. It does not add up because we have been playing Xbox on HD for a whole week without any problems. We have had difficulties with our internet though. A tech guy had to mess with a few circuits in the electric box at my apartment for internet to work so I wonder if it could be a problem with that. Direct TV only works with AV cables on 480p. The TV is brand new so it is kind of difficult to say that its the TV. Maybe the install wasn't done correctly but as of now, I do not know what the problem might be.

  Dynex is a terrible choice for an HD tv. take that lemon back to walmart were you bought it and get a quality well known brand, it will cost you more money but an hd tv is not an item to try and save money on and hope for the best. at first you say it makes noise with hdmi and component cables yet the x box works fine, then later you say your sat box is not hd and only has a/v connections. i think you should disconnect all the cables and start over using the owners manual this time. google dynex disposable television to see what im referring to
