How do I burn VHS to a disk?

Can I burn VHS from TV to dvd format on computer which has dvd burner?

  • I have an older tv that has audio video outlets and whatnot connected to a vcr which plays tapes and my question was can I burn the content of one of my videotapes to dvd by connecting cables from the vhs to my computer? I have a slim external samsung dvd burner/writer and Im using an Asus Aee PC netbook. On my vcr I have audio/video colored outlets and one of those old style basic cable cords. On my asus I have several usb ports a dcim port, a male connector thing(i have a double male vga cord), also seperately I have a brand new asus 26 inch monitor. Is there any configuration of these items that i could either burn the vhs straight to dvd or burn the vhs to a digital format then do it to dvd? Thanks...

You will need to get a video capture card and record the video onto your computers hard drive, once you have the captured video, you will need a program that will let you burn the video files to a dvd

Please consider a DVD Burner the time of the importing of the video and then converting to DVD format takes a lot of time. We burn our VHS tapes, Videos from our DVR like TV Shows and Movies.
